I’ve stayed in some serviced apartments that have had their own in room laundry (washing machine / dryer). Which is great for a long stay and you want to stick with HLO travel.

For me, if I'm working at a site for longer than 3 days, a serviced apartment with a washing machine and dryer helps with keeping the clothes I need down. Otherwise, I prefer hotels.

Laundry facilities are becoming quite common in hotels as well, they are actually brand start with the Holiday Inn express and the proinvest owned ones in Australia charge $2 for a wash or dry

I prefer hotels offering early breakfast. I haven't time in the mornings to go hunting for a cafe. I don't tend to spend much time in a hotel room and out between 7 am and 5 pm or later if I eat out, or have just flown in. In that case desks etc are not a major requirement and the bed serves for watching TV. I have stayed in motels and have bought my breakfast (continental style) the night before in a local supermarket.

That's a big advantage of a serviced apartment for a few days. Grab some breakfast items from the grocery store and save yourself heaps of time DIY b'fast in the room.

Yes, OK if you are somewhere for a few days. you can even justify in buying a slab of butter for your toast. I was in quarantine for nearly 2 weeks in an ordinary hotel in Melbourne so breakfasts were supermarket bought.

The washing machine in the room is a good point and something I omitted from the article. I've definitely take advantage of being able to do some laundry while away on work trips, even on relatively short trips sometimes.

Agree. Just having a proper sized fridge, a microwave, toaster, crockery and cutlery makes it much easier to have the kind of breakfast I'd normally have at home (cereal, toast, porridge, etc) instead of starting the day with an enormous buffet or cooked cafe breakfast
