In the BNE International lounge before flying to CHC earlier tonight. They had Lallier champagne for free pour for all (I'm LTS). This is the one featured in the Inflight magazine at the moment. I'm no expert, what are your thoughts on it?

Not a fan. Just glad Taittinger was put back on at SIN F. Even the Lallier Blanc des Blancs is a bit naff to my buds.

Interesting - since the Brisbane International lounge opened, Champagne has generally been an under the counter option only available for CL/P1.

I wonder if this is promotional or Qantas have changed philosophy

Other than that, Lallier has mainly really been the only Champagne available in Qantas First lounges this year..

Anecdotally, they had Piper Heidsick (sp deliberate) on free flow at BNE Intl a few times when I sauntered through there late last year. Was only WP at the time, so guessing they were offering it to all.

I last used that lounge in February as a WP. I asked for champagne and, to paraphrase, I was told they don't have anything for me other than sparkling wine.

They may have tightened it up this year but there’s a lot of reports (and my own experience) that it was available if you asked. As detailed in the PH review - Review: Qantas International Lounge, Brisbane.

Despite living on the Gold Coast I avoid flying out of BNE internationally, so haven’t been to the lounge since early 2023. I received champagne on that visit after asking.

I also wonder whether time of day plays a part - I was there when I think the only flight going was QF15, perhaps they are more stingy when partner airline flights are departing.

I also live on the Gold Coast and prefer to go OOL - SYD to avoid the terrible traffic to BNE and also to use the First lounge, but the last 2 times I was at the BNE International lounge I was very happily given champagne on request. This was as recently as May this year.
