Hmm.... I'd normally question the inclusion of butter, but in light of your mention of "lots of Vegemite", in this case I'll allow it.

I find the butter adds a creaminess and sweetness to the Vegemite. Because it’s lighter, putting it on before means that it can melt into the bread. A whipped butter and Vegemite might be interesting
