I too got the invitation and after thinking it over for a while I eventually transferred 65,000 Amex points to Velocity last Thursday. I've just checked to see if they transferred OK and they have BUT status is still RED and I can't ring them till Monday to check the score.

Anyone else in this position?

I also sent them an email last Wednesday with a few questions. So far no response despite them boasting of a response within 24-48 hours. This is not the first time this has happened either...so much for "customer service".

I'd say it took just over a week or so to get the status updated. In the meantime I'd just explain to anyone at the airport what you've done (we used the lounge and priority check in before we got the new card and it was all fine...)

cheers

Well, I rang Velocity to enquire about the status of membership and was informed it takes up to 6 weeks for the atatus to be upgraded. Why? Because that's how long it takes was the response.

Unbelievable!

I agree with Bill about their customer service or precisely the lack of it!
6Weeks is a typical response, but I think you'll get in 3-4weeks!
Never got the postcard and would like to do it! did the invitation come from Amex or DJ?
