Redemption on Hong Kong Airlines

The SYD - HKG route ends in March, sorry. They started it back up in Oct 2025 but i guess it hasnt been successful.

am I right in reading this thread that I have to call to check availability? how tiresome.
Any ideas what the points will be? I have around 480,000 points and want to go with 2 adults and 2 kids to Hong Kong in Economy in April 2026 from Sydney or Canberra.

Yeah unfortunately you need to call (and get a good person on the other end). My flight from YVR to HKG is over 14hrs and was 100,000 points so it should be a manageable amount? Let us know how you go.

Thankyou. I had a few mins on lunch break so called. They only have availability up until March 27th so I'll need to wait a few weeks before I can book April.
4 seats one way came to 130,000 in Economy from Sydney.

How did you find the airline? I'm a bit nervous flying with airlines that are new to me. But school holiday prices with cash are just too much money and this is the only way I can do with points unless I go via Singapore and really don't want to do that - plus it uses way more points.
