Citibank told me the 20,000 bonus point offer for the Platinum card is still valid, however, when I went to apply for it the only reward program it would allow me to enrol in is CitiRewards.

Has anyone had any success in subsequently signing up to Qantas direct and these points transferring over?

I applied for the credit card a few months ago and then signed up to have my points transferred to Qantas. I now have my 20k points although it took me almost 3 months for them to transfer.

I had great difficulty in getting my points as they denied that they ever had such a promotion. At one point they offered me 10k but I pursued them for the 20k until they finally found the promotion within the marketing team and paid up!

I have had no first-hand experience with this card or Citibank, but looking at their site (when signing up for the card via the normal process rather than through this promo) there's an option to register for a $19 QFF point sweep program to get your citi points over to QFF. You'd imagine that the same would apply for the bonus points too.

Would be interested in knowing this too; the offer is very tempting.

Called and spoke to Citi; apparently the 20k reward points can't be transferred over to QFF - only the ongoing monthly spend. He may be wrong of course - I only spoke to one person on the phone but he spent enough time looking up the relevant info to make me believe him.

You can sign up and just get the points in citi rewards first. Then later on enrol into the qantas sweep over. What ever balance you have will be converted to QFF points then any future spend will be transferred automatically on a monthly basis.

No they won't.

12.7 If you opt out of Citi Rewards
®, and into Citi Qantas Rewards, you will lose all your accrued Points in Citi Rewards ®. You cannot redeem them or use the Points you accrued in the Citi Rewards ® in Citi Qantas Rewards. You cannot transfer Points from one Rewards program to the other.

There was a transitional arrangement when Qantas Rewards were introduced, but it is not something that exists going forward.
