Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Thinking of buying a copy.

“The persistent suggestion that most wine drinkers believe that minerals are transferred directly from the rocks to the wine feels silly to me – the way in which we describe wine is metaphorical.”

Clean, transparent and young colour. Has berry favour and closed. The second day stay in fridge, the third day drink the rest half. It is more open but not fully. This is the sight of aging poteintial. Light oak, light to medium body. Bought from cellardoor mystery, $24 per bottle, It is good value to me. It should be opened after few years.

Was waiting to try Lamella 18 with a bit of age to see if it lives up to the hype of a perfect score. Standish wines need time to breathe so I decanted at midnight to drink at 8pm, total 20 hours.

I’m not great at describing wines so will leave the poetry to EL and others, all I can say is WOW this is an absolute brilliant representation of Aussie Shiraz. In terms of complexity and value for money ($105 at release) Standish blows out of the water far more expensive Barossan wine labels.

I will rate Standish as a high value brand nowadays.
