ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

I would say the two month offer is just there to encourage people to signup/renew now knowing that the program changes are coming. Better than having them drop out, and maybe not come back....
Yep, I’d say Accor just trying to milk the last drop.
Would be surprised if they are pretty generous though and plenty will end up with Platinum until the end of 2026 but then all bets will be off and they’ll drop the hammer.

Part of this change may be to align all ALL+ members to a single renewal date of 1 October, hence the 14 months for the price of 12 offers. I think we’ll see similar offers over the course of a year to support this. Makes things a lot simpler in their backend…
1 October - all Explorer memberships renew and given 30 status nights
31 December all ALL status assessed
1 January- all status adjusted.

The IT dept would be trying to have every member have their status assessed on 31 December and then immediately have that applied under new rules. Good for the systems.

The hope for those of us platinum or higher now may be that a more member / customer centric department determines that the resulting loss of goodwill will cost them more than the efficiency savings. That may result in current status being extended to 2026. If that is the case then it would be to 31 December.
Does that mean if I renew now my status will be valid through September 30?

I joined in July and my status was extended until July 26. So presumably any new or renew up until October should work the same?

What happens then - we’ll see.

I think it’s pretty clear with the announced changes that membership in Accor Plus doesn’t need to align with Accor ALL in any particular way, going forwards. Status will be determined by the overarching ALL program rules of what you have done in the 12 months to December 31st of a given year (incl. up to 30 bonus/free nights from A+), and that’s that.

Sign ups to A+ will continue to run and renew on the same 12 month blocks as they do currently.

Maybe I’m being pessimistic here… but I think they’re trying to cull the numbers of the ‘not so loyal’ elite members from the base, and so I expect there will only be limited exceptions and extensions to elite accounts that haven’t made the cut, come Dec 31st 2025.

The one main caveat to my pessimism… I do think they will most likely honour elite members who have reached or retained Platinum under the pre-October rules before September 30th (even if it was with more than 30 bonus nights) with status maintained through the end of 2026. But this also remains to be seen!

Cheers,
Matt.

Unfortunately, I don’t think either of you will see your status extended into 2026 unless you have the status nights or status points to secure it. Accor Plus no longer offers any kind of status extensions. The only benefit to status from A+ is the 30 bonus nights which are credited at the start of your new membership year
