JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

There is wide open space on JL51 HND-SYD but only if you search using the non-multi city tool on an itinerary that originates in Australia (that is to say, SYD-HND return)

I'm unsure why it doesn't show if you use the multi city tool, even if searching with an itinerary that starts in Australia / has Australian POS.

This is real bookable space, I was able to call up last night and have them edit an existing booking (QF J award return) to be on JL51 on the return leg instead. This was just ticketed this morning:

Unsure if the call centre can book it just as a one-way standalone.
bummer, seems like its only for 1 pax. There is a F seat on the flight I am on, but I am travelling with my wife in J 😆

was there a fee? is it 5k points for rebooking?

Yeah just the usual 5k change fee. I'm not sure if they repriced my ticket (booked before devaluation) to the new prices though, I will have to double check once they deduct the points.

Damn too slow shouldve sniped one of these first then think about it later. Late march ones are gone now.

Also always a small chance of a random a350 swap if they have one delivered early before proper schedule deployment like HND-SIN earlier this year.

I just did some random date searching. @DejaBrew @sudoer . JL51 F is available but only as an Australian origin.

First screenshot is part of return, second is one way.

Edit: can be any outbound flight. (Qf, multi city etc)
