Woolworths gift card thread

1.19c/qffp or a loss of $0.95 per card if converting to woolies pesos.
Adding ~105 qffp with a 1c/p credit card brings it to just under 1c/p.
Hardly lucrative but may help with questing for points club - over 7 days could clear 21k points, more if different varieties are treated differently
Plus, in very limited circumstances, can be used fee free at places that would other wise levy a CC surcharge.

Or to accumulate points on the PE for payments at the very large Canberra based merchant.

But worth the hassle… 🤷🏻‍♂️ YMMV.

When you put it like that, doesn’t seem quite as poor value. Even better with AMEX Plat Edge which earns 1.5 Avios or VA points per dollar. But still less attractive than Coles Gift MC with 20 bonus points per dollar.

Just went to my local Woolies looking for the variable load Apple GCs to replace the one that failed to activate for me the other day (but did give me 10000 "free" EDR points). Absolutely wasteland in terms of Apple cards.

Subsequently went for a detour to a nearby Woolies Metro and think I've now discovered where all of the Apple GCs disappear to when they go into hiding at all the other stores 🤣

My memory’s not that good.

But @VantageXL might have the data to answer this.
Woolworths switched from Blackhawk Network to InComm Payments as their prepaid open loop gift card supplier early last year. Since then, they've only ever offered 10x points but beginning this year every single promotion has excluded the variable load cards (see list below).

They have offered 20x points on Westfield Eftpos $50 and $100 cards a handful of times over the years (most recently in Jun 2024) and up until 2021 they would sometimes offer 20x points on $50 and $100 Perfect Eftpos gift cards.
2025: $50 and $100 cards only:
10x points on $50 and $100 Vanilla Visa gift cards - 20/8/2025-26/8/2025
10x points on $50 and $100 TCN Eftpos gift cards - 30/7/2025-5/8/2025
10x points on $50 and $100 Vanilla Visa gift cards - 25/6/2025-1/7/2025
10x points on $50 and $100 Vanilla Mastercard gift cards - 4/6/2025-10/6/2025
10x points on $50 and $100 TCN Eftpos gift cards - 23/4/2025-29/4/2025
10x points on $50 and $100 TCN Eftpos gift cards - 26/2/2025-4/3/2025
10x points on $50 and $100 Vanilla Mastercard gift cards - 5/2/2025-11/2/2025
10x points on $50 and $100 Vanilla Visa gift cards - 22/1/2025-28/1/2025

2024: Variable load cards included:
10x points on Vanilla Visa and Vanilla Visa Birthday gift cards - 4/12/2024-10/12/2024
10x points on Vanilla Mastercard gift cards - 20/11/2024-26/11/2024
10x points on TCN Eftpos gift cards - 30/10/2024-5/11/2024
10x points on TCN Luxury Eftpos gift cards - 23/10/2024-29/10/2024
10x points on Vanilla Mastercard gift cards - 9/10/2024-15/10/2024
10x points on TCN Luxury Eftpos gift cards - 25/9/2024-1/10/2024
10x points on Vanilla Visa and Vanilla Visa Birthday gift cards - 4/9/2024-10/9/2024
10x points on TCN Eftpos gift cards - 31/7/2024-6/8/2024
10x points on Vanilla Visa and Vanilla Visa Birthday gift cards - 26/6/2024-2/7/2024
10x points on Vanilla Mastercard gift cards - 5/6/2024-11/6/2024
10x points on TCN Luxury Eftpos and $100 Vanilla Visa gift cards - 15/5/2024-21/5/2024
10x points on TCN Eftpos and Merindah-Gunya Eftpos gift cards - 24/4/2024-30/4/2024

Signs have gone up early at my local, so here’s advance notice of next week’s offer.

Only $50 and $100. No variable load.

Gift $100s bought today are being declined tonight at my local council (bpoint), post billpay, and post billpay via paypal with "Decline Code 03 - Invalid Merchant".

Checking online, it does show there's an $100 balance, though it does say 'pending'. Will be a real pain if these can't be used for the intended online payments. Will try again in the morning.

I managed to pay the CBR based merchant.

I'm hearing similar reports. Particular problems with Aus Post.

The game may have changed. But may be a temporary glitch?
