Qantas Delays/Cancellations

In more on Saturday 16 August 2025, QF71, the scheduled 1225 hours lunchtime from PER up to SIN has been altered to depart at 1520 hours. The aircraft (A332 VH-EBO) has been in Perth since 0844 this morning.

A333 VH-QPG as QF59, the 1105 hours SYD up to HND did not take off until 1225 hours so gate arrival should be approximately 2057 hours, 47 late. With the usual efficient, quick turnaround at Japanese airports, the return south should hopefully be punctual.

QFi has many delays with its A333s/A332s.

A360 VH-OQI is expected to shortly depart SYD, at about 1615 hours, as the flagship QFi bound for SIN and LHR.

On Saturday 16 August, A333 VH-QPC operated SYD to HKG (QF127), arriving at 1938 hours, 98 minutes behind schedule. It returned (but to MEL) as QF30, arriving at gate on Sunday 17 at 0929 hours, 124 late, to form QF79, the 0935 hours MEL up to NRT that was in the air at 1139 hours. Arrival looks to be about 2036 hours, 96 down.

A332 VH-EBS is on QF67 (0905 hours Sunday SYD to BLR in India) airborne at 1006 for a suggested gate arrival at 1712, 37 minutes behind.

Sister -EBO arrived BNE this morning at 0731 hours, 91 minutes late as QF52 from SIN. The plane previously ran QF71 from PER. QFi tend to swap aircraft around in Singapore quite a bit.

Monday 18 August 2025 has A388 VH-OQL on QF7, the lunchtime 1210 hours SYD-DFW delayed to an expected pushback at 1800 hours in the early evening. Because there's a substantial layover in Dallas-Fort Worth, hopefully QF8 of the same date will be punctual.

According to Amadeus, it looks like it's now delayed till early tomorrow morning. :(

This may have adverse ramifications for Wednesday 20's scheduled departures., although QF63 to JNB is not operating on that day while QF81 to SIN is a B789.

-OQL has had a few recent delays. As these complex pieces of machinery age, they must be more challenging to maintain. Supply chain delays are unlikely to be helpful.

Continuing with Monday 18 August, A332 VH-EBM had overnighted in Sydney with it forming QF43, the 1620 hours to DPS that wasn't up up and away until 1841 hours. Expected arrival at 2256 will be 126 minutes late.

Quite unusual for this flight to be more than half an hour late.
