Others will have more knowledge but the supposed range of these aircraft is 6480km v MEL-SIN that's slightly above 6,000.

So it may be possible but IIRC airlines can be conservative and want to have a margin of safety. If less freight or fewer passengers and associated luggage were carried, range may rise a bit. Happy to be corrected!

JQ29 took off at 1944 from MEL instead of 1320 on 11/08, and will arrive in BKK at 0131 on 12/08 instead of 1940 the night before on VKH (B788)

Still no sign of either 2x787s returning to service, so the cancellations roll on.

Today’s MEL-SIN extended onto coughet as a positioning flight to run Wednesday’s coughet to Sydney service which they used to rescue stranded Melbourne pax last night. So JQ8 is cancelled tonight, and tomorrow, and probably the rest of the week as tradition goes.

Early build 787s which have been pushed hard and are all due for the first heavy check about now, so they are not in great form. D checks start in 4 months and the aircraft are screaming out for these checks!

Had half considered using JQ to Singapore in October but as I'll be continuing to Europe they're off the list with this latest round of 787 shortages. I've been screwed over before with the same the last time round when trying to get to Japan

MEL-SIN-MEL now cancelled this Sunday.

From reports they are not putting people on QF, simply moving to another day and asking people to submit accommodation receipts.

Must be a funny model that the actuary at JQ is running to come to this conclusion!

Utterly disgraceful. There's so many flights a day to Singapore between QF and SQ. If they would like anyone to have any goodwill at all they should be offering rebooking at least to QF. This is making Scoot look good

I had a classic reward JQ MEL-HNL once and they put me on QF via Sydney when it got canceled. It appears only selected people got transferred to the QF flight, it still went out pretty empty also. My other party on the flight on a cash fare didn’t get a transfer.

Same Balance sheet between the two so you would think they would do what is in the best financial interest, ie moving people on each other compared to racking up bills having them stranded.
