Overnight Layover in HK flying Cathay Business

Hey folks,

I've got an overnight layover in HK Airport as part of my OWA (business) for next year.
I get into HK at 12.05am (flying from DPS), then flying out to PEK at 7.25am. Both in CX J.

Would folks be getting a hotel near the airport to get some zzz's? I assume the CX lounges are closed overnight.
Also guessing I'd have to clear immigration etc. to get there.

Any recommendations appreciated.

It’s been a while since I had a layover in HKG, but one of the business lounges (a smaller, less visited ones - The Pier?) has a dark, quiet area that would allow a good rest. Problem with any hotel land side, looking at 1am arrival, and 5am wake up as best possibility.

I know that's not correct.

I was there a couple of times earlier this year, overnight, and the Wing F lounge was scheduled to close at 02:00 every night. When I was there it actually closed between 02:30 and 03:30 to cater for delayed flights. It then reopened at 05:00.

However in the OP's case, this is not useful information as they are unable to access a First lounge (yes, I know, the Wing is being refurbished, but I assume the Pier/Deck F is now open until 02:00). You wouldn't want to upset the premium/elite pax on the NY flight.

Either the Regal at the Airport or Novotel Citygate will be the best choice but expensive for the time spent.

For a 7 hour layover, not counting the time to deplane, go through Immigration twice, and the boarding process, I'm not sure that a hotel would be worthwhile. But YMMV.

At least outbound passport control is electronic, so just a few minutes.

If the DPS-HKG is flat beds, I would probably try and catch an hour’s sleep on that flight and just stay up for the transit. And snooze again on the flight down to PER.

If it is recliner seats for the DPS flight I’d probably spring for the airport hotel, but it’s expensive.

According to the CX site, The Bridge J and The Pier F stay open until the last CX departure - which can be as late as 3:20am.
