On the contrary - OW status will *not* get you in. It's ticket class only.

It’s a class of service lounge so must be travelling in J or F, status makes no difference.
And Yes I think it is on par with the QF F lounge and in some instances even better IMO

Unquestionably better IMO. Quieter, more comfortable and more personalised service (unless you are P1 or CL, I guess)

Definitely worth a visit. Different food options, and a different ambience. As others have stated, it's not about status and only relates to class of travel (I've read somewhere that it must be a cash fare for class of travel too, rather than an award/upgrade, but I haven't confirmed that myself).

Depending on my itinerary I often go there after the close of the F lounge. It's generally a quieter space than the Qantas lounge too, which can get very busy during peak period.

Not true at all. I’ve taken numerous J award flights out of SIN and used the QR lounge

On some QR/AY lite fares or upgrades you don't get access but this doesn't apply to other OW carriers.

I was actually disappointed with QR lounge 2 weeks ago. Used to be through a bit and their coughtail list is greatly reduced as is their food offering. It’s still worth a visit if you enjoy western dining but does feel there’s been some cost cutting.

I used to advocate for people to make a trip down if they have time but now I’m less convinced.

I’d say QF do showers better, their food and wine is quite good but if you really need a quiet place before a QF departure then QR is good as it does stay quiet around those 6-8pm hours.

A few more shots from QR SIN. Used it arriving off QF81 before MH J, then moved to QF F which was closer to gates. And then used it before QF82 after the QF F lounge got busy around 7pm.

As a solo traveller sat at the high chairs near the bar. At all times lounge no more than 50% full whereas QF F was packed.

Chicken satay 1. Quite a sweet satay sauce that I like.

And the steak (grilled beef tenderloin medium rare) - much better than what I got a few hours later on the plane

Hi all,

Will be flying in a few weeks on QF38 in J reward. I've seen in this thread, and heard elsewhere, that dining can often be limited in the QR lounge past QR947's departure before resuming at around 2330 prior to QR945.

Given we depart at 2330, curious to see if anyone has any experiences on the dining situation prior to any of the late night QF/OW departures. We will most likely arrive to the airport around 2030, and will rock up to the QR lounge either way for some champagne and coughtails, but would obviously like to dine as well.

I was there about two weeks ago before QF36 — arrived around 20:15. Food options were very limited until about 22:45, when they brought out the hot dishes again (ahead of QR945). Before that, it was mostly light snacks and some desserts.

The last time we were there was prior to QF36 about 6 pm, limited hot food but a very pleasant experience.

I was the only person in the lounge earlier in the year so the coughtail list was whatever I asked for ;-) barman and I had a ball.

There in early August about 17:30 with this menu. Hardly anyone there when I arrived at about T-2.5, quite busy when I left.
