The view or two from my "office"

Probably needs it's own thread, but reflecting on my experience I feel violated. QF staff would not and should not put up with a complete stranger rubbing up against them for 5 hours. Why is it that airlines feel it's ok to put their pax in such situations? It's not the fault of the passenger next to me but the airline IMHO. The CSM said he should have purchased a second seat but unless it's enforced 99% of larger pax aren't going to.

I literally had a complete stranger rubbing up against me for 5 hours. I'm pretty angry right now about the situation. What does one do?

To close the loop on this one...

I put in a complaint. Additionally the inflight entertainment stopped working about 45 minutes in. All the ipad had issues connecting to the wifi, so I added that to my complaint. I asked for a 20% refund of that flight due to losing 20% of my space plus 50k points compensation for 5 hours of unwanted touching.

First response QF offered me 10k points for the entertainment failure and suggested I contact the booking agent (booked through our corporate TA). I thanks them for the points but suggested further compensation for being touched without consent was required. Upon further review they've offered and I've accepted a 200 QF travel credit valid for 12 months.

I don't know if the fact that I mentioned the issue to the CSM on the plane and she said she'd note it made any difference to the outcome to my complaint. Either way, in the end I feel it was dealt with quite reasonably and speedily.
