The view or two from my "office"

Apparently Thien An & Kenny are getting married this afternoon at Grand Mercure Danang

Hotel foyer is awash with fresh flowers.

The pool has been drained and the area is being transformed into some sort of garden extravaganza with faux white swans and other creatures.

As hotel guests, we were only notified 72 hours beforehand that a "private event" would preclude our use of the pool for the whole 3 days of our stay.

Can't seem to find our invitation!

We had that happen to us at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan.
Wedding party built a dance floor over the pool. Would have been fine except for the building (hand nailing) continued thru the night until 3am, directly below our room.

Though not sure I would like to share the table with them all at meals - I have a preference for own table, whether there is one, tow or more of us travelling together. I find sharing a bit much "happy campers".

It’s the group we’ve been travelling with for almost the last two weeks. Part of the Outback Spirit tour. Only 12 of the original 20 can fit on what is effectively an extension to the tour. It’s a fun group - and 6 of us are my family/friends group anyway.

👌😎

I have such a massive soft spot for WA. Severely underrated ❤️

Went to Horizontal falls and it made me eat my words 🤣 But I love the diversity of Oz. Have bookmarked this on Google maps. Enjoy!

Whilst OTHERS traverse the airports to reach the tropics… I might be left dragging the short legged furry to the airport spots and surrounds. He’s short so only gets views of the gear stick and glove box 🤣 We did go walkies but that would require more pics.

Wellywood.

Whiteman Park
This a Kalgoorlie tramcar that ran until 1952
Tram No. 25
one of twenty-five tramcars imported from the USA by Kalgoorlie Electric Tramways Limited in 1902. At that time, Western Australia's goldfields had a larger population than the main cities of Perth and Fremantle combined.

The opportunity for wealth brought prospectors…

After tramway closed, It was used as shearers' quarters

Take a look inside to see:

Electric light fittings - at a time when few homes had more than a single light bulb, if they had any electricity at all.

Ornate brackets - for hanging bags and coats.

Bell cord

Decorative frieze - the inside of this tram was covered in ornate wood veneers and advertisements for local businesses.

Reversible seats - for passengers to turn when the tram changed directions

Follow up on this.

Faraway Bay is not the place you would lob into as a couple or individual.

The only way to get in is by light aircraft.

It’s a group thing.

It’s not an Outback Spirit property, but they have first dibs.

A friend of mine came here as a family group for his sister’s 60th, to illustrate a private use.
