The taxes are exactly the same as any other airline flying the same route/class of service. What are the taxes like on a QR award booking (to say Australia to Europe return), because 240,000 points should give you a business class reward, right? As long as there is space.

Yeah I just use the term taxes to reflect all costs beyond the points cost. The taxes are exactly the same as any other airline flying the same route/class of service.
Airline ffp's can have cash carrier surcharges on awards.
I think any Qatar members can sign up via here.Sniff. Three return J trips to Europe in the past year and two more booked in the coming year.
No email for me
Always try to get from Asia to Europe on QR and some cheap way (eg SQ Award) to get to the Asian departure port. Much better value.
Yep, QR fares from Asia are often great. Can often get fares to Europe for around $3k return.Sniff. Three return J trips to Europe in the past year and two more booked in the coming year.

The “carrier surcharge” in J is about $550 ex Sydney and $850 ex LHR. (Inc official taxes)What are the taxes like on a QR award booking (to say Australia to Europe return), because 240,000 points should give you a business class reward, right? As long as there is space.
I have just booked x2 J ADL-LHR the fees and charges were around AUD570 per pax. If you can get the saver rewards it is 90000 Avios per PAX one way in J. The flexi is 180000 Avios per PAX.What are the taxes like on a QR award booking (to say Australia to Europe return), because 240,000 points should give you a business class reward, right? For those familiar with the travel industry, it important to differentiate.Yeah I just use the term taxes to reflect all costs beyond the points cost.
