Qantas reciprocal relationship with KLM/Air France (2020 onwards)

Does anyone know if all KLM and Air France flights are available to book through Qantas?

I'm trying to find a mixed itinerary (MEL to LIS via Singapore) - but the itinerary I found on KLM website is not coming up on Qantas multi trip...

Not sure if that's because they offer limited flights for booking via Qantas codeshare?

Or maybe it's because KLM and Air France offer very aggressive 1 hour transfer times through their hubs...

Or maybe it's just because Qantas multi trip is just not good enough?

Any insight would be welcome
We did MEL - LIS via HKG then AMS ,try that @HSB44 on CX & KLM
It was J classic reward but it is a combination that may be able to be booked via Multi city

Some clarification is needed here. Are you looking to book a classic flight reward or booking a cash fare with the KLM/Air France flights carrying a QF flight number (codeshare)? Remember aside from one classic flight award partner who will remain silent in this thread for reasons (and is not KLM or Air France) classic flight rewards operated by an airline other than QF won’t carry a QF flight number.

Supposing you are indeed referring to classic flight rewards, I do have a suggestion to make if I may: can you search for availability just on the post of the route that is operated by KLM or Air France and see if there is availability there for me (e.g. SIN to LIS). If you can find availability on partners on a given date then the next step would be finding availability for MEL to SIN. If you can then find availability that lines up (e.g., MEL to SIN on a given day connecting to the SIN to LIS either on the same day or the following day) then you should be able to book this out as a multi-city with flight 1 being MEL to SIN and flight 2 being SIN to LIS. The Qantas multicity tool will recognize it as a connecting itinerary and simply charge you the amount based on the total distance flown from the partner award chart.

To your implied question of whether there is Air France or KLM award availability there absolutely is as I recently found such availability for my partner to fly São Paulo to Amsterdam on KLM. Will that availability be the same as you find on Air France KLM Flying Blue? Absolutely not! But this is true for every frequent flyer program I’ve encountered thus far. Heck sometimes Qantas partners release different award availability to Qantas as they do their partners (for instance Qatar with Qantas versus Virgin Australia)

Thanks, I am looking to change a cash codeshare booking to a different cash codeshare booking.

I'll keep looking

Apart from price, QF1/2 with the BA tag technically would be the same as KLM or AF? As far as avoiding the ME.

I mixed up the destinations in my previous post, having made several flight bookings recently. I am actually flying from Lisbon, as you want to do. LIS-AMS-KUL on KLM. This was booked through multi city, with KUL-PER on MH. Do you have to fly via SIN? If you have no luck using multi city, it could be worth telephoning to book.

Points or $s?

OP is trying to change a $$$ booking.

Hi all

I didn't want to start a new thread but should I be able to book the following flights: DXB to YYZ via CDG/AMS using Qantas points on AF/KLM?

I am searching for availability using seats.aero and QFF website but no luck, however with AF Flying Blue, there is plenty of availability, does this require a phone call to QFF? Will the agent be able to see availability? If so, what should the right cost be? Appreciate your comments

The search of your screenshot, is it with qff program, or flying blue program? Have you been able to see if the redemption cost is the minimal one? Flying blue has multiple redemption cost for a given flight, and only the baseline one may be available to other program. At least thats my understanding

The screenshot is from seats.aero which searches multiple programs all at once

This is the lowest price I can see from Flying Blue, others are 160k for same trip which leads me to believe this is the lowest level (and it makes sense at that price)

For Seats.Aero you need to navigate to the specific program and then search from there (Qantas is one such program they have listed). This will show you availability for that program. The reason being is that Qantas will have access to different award seats than other frequent flyer programs. Sometimes it is more, sometimes it is less. For instance, I can find flights from São Paulo to Madrid on Iberia booking it with my FinnAir Plus points. But if I do the same search on Iberia, no such flights pop up.

The other thing I must caution you about regarding Air France and KLM is the carrier surcharges are eye watering. From what I was seeing, you could pay several hundred Euros on carrier surcharges on top of however many Qantas points it is to book the flight. In which case it may make sense to find a flight operated by another program that flies into Toronto. Some examples are American Airlines or WestJet.

Qantas doesn't have the same level of access to AF/KL seats as SkyTeam programs, which themselves don't have the access that Flying Blue does.
Ok so confirming that if seats were available to QFF, they would be available online and it's not a QF IT thing? Calling would yield same result?

This partnership isn’t very well understood by check in staff I have found. I tried to check in to a klm flight ex AMS, the machine didn’t work but when I asked a staffer for help they directed me to business checkin. So far so good, I check in my luggage, they print my ticket, and direct me to the priority security line. Except at priority security they were adamant that qff status wouldn’t get me in because it wasn’t sky team. Meh.

Has anyone transited from Qf to Af at SIN, seperate PNR? I am presuming that I will not get baggage checked through, though curious what lounge I can access in SIN as a WP. I have ticket no. starting with 081.

Yeah, if the seats are available on QFF they should be available online (unless departing from a Point of Origin that can't be searched online, cause yknow, Qantas). It's possible to encounter phantom availability though
