Hi all, just thought I'd post to let others know in case they were wondering as I was. If you are travelling on a QR Business lite ticket but have Privilege Club Platinum status, you are in fact able to access the Al Safwa First class lounge in Doha, and it was printed right on my boarding pass. This doesn't extend to those with other program Oneworld Emerald status however. A good perk for those with QR Platinum, cheers.

Anyone know how this would work:

AFAIK, there is no "business" class offered on intra-middle east routes so even though product is J, you are booked in F

What lounge would you get?

Al Safwa. A number of us here have done it.

you also get Al Safwa arrival lounge access before your connecting departing flight, even if it’s in business.

Yep understood

So you book either the 17.5k option or the 42k option, you're seated in the same cabin and you get Al Safwa?

Not sure why that is the only flight that business available on, however

Ah, sorry. I wasn’t considering that particular circumstance, just the fact that as you noted, regional flights are booked as first with no business. if it is booked as business, then I don’t think there will be Al Safa access, As it will be J on theBP. sorry again for my mis- reading.

If you have 15K Alaska Miles you may be able to book First.

No problem, you are the QR expert.

I ended up using Avios to book myself in F to ensure Al Safwa Access

For some reason, the reverse, so DOH to AUH/DXB/SHJ is not available at all in F using Alaskan...

Strangely, that flight is selling F and J whereas the 77W at 8am has no J
OK, the 1AM flight is of this configuration with 6 dedicated First.

The 8am has no such:

The 8am has no such:

Ah ok so the 1am must be the ex-CX 777? with dedicated F, hence more expensive in terms of Avios?

Do you think if one booked "J" on this flight they would get access to the Al Safwa lounge?

I think you’d have to assume that J class would get J class lounge access on flights where there is a dedicated cabin.

QR’s website is selling business, or first, or both classes on that 0100 flight, depending on the day of the week. With price differential (+AUD500 for F)
