Thai authorities have reminded all foreign tourists planning trips to the country that they will need to fill out a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at least three days before travelling, starting on April 28 for arrivals on May 1.

The simple application, replacing the traditional TM.6 paper form, can be completed on the TDAC website, said deputy government spokesman Anukool Pruksanusak. A TDAC mobile app for Android and iOS users is expected to be ready soon.

The TDAC will replace the TM6 form, which all visitors had to complete in order to clear immigration. The use of TM6 cards has been suspended since last year.

Travellers must input personal details, passport information, travel itinerary, accommodation and health status.

Once they fill out the TDAC form, travellers will receive a confirmation email to present alongside travel documents upon arrival in Thailand.

There is something lost in translation there.

It must be filled out within three days of travel, not "at least three days before". Any later date gives an error "invalid format". (With today the 22nd, you can't enter a date later than the 25th.)

This criteria is similar to the New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan online forms.

I'm arriving BKK on Sunday, so I guess I won't have to fill out any Immigration forms at all.

Yes, you can only apply 3 days before arrival and not before. I think this means that if you forget, you can do it in the airport as I have done in the past, but that isn't spelt out , so who knows?

How do you all manage all of these pre-clearance type approvals?

I frankly have too many floating out there and keeping track of them is a pain.

Given these type have have useful life of 4 days I tend to forget about them once used.

US ESTA and the UK ETA are different as they last up to two years. (Although, with the UK one, once approved there is nothing further you can ordinarily do.)

Yes, everyone can relax. You can only fill in your digital form from three days before arrival date, but if you forget it won’t matter as you can fill them in upon arrival before visa checks. There are multiple machines that allow you to do it on or even do it on your own iPhone or whatever if you have wifi. They won’t send you home, they just prefer that you do it in that three day window before you get here. Otherwise it’s an instantaneous response unless you flag an issue.
