Yes - I dropped to Silver, as well. I don’t know that I’ll bother chasing up on the basis of what the email said. I’ve only got enough travel in the coming calendar year to focus on the one program, and for me that will be Accor ALL, where I should reach Diamond later in 2025.
There might be a system wide issue. My email said I’d drop to Silver but crashed to “Member”…. Odd thing, it updated immediately after I bought some points to preserve my points….
I thought I had read reports of some getting a second bite of the hotel cherry when they requalified for Platinum? Had to call and request it, not automatic via website.
Not heard of that. Might give them a call and see what they say when I have a minute...or three!
I've emailed them about that and they are checking and said they'd get back to me (I first used it in 2019).
By benefit reset? did you get this via VA plat or did HH reset it?
VA have to reset it so that the offer is available on the website.
Either I believe but it also must be noted that it’s not a given and probably depends on what agent you get.
It will also depend on how long it is since you first took the benefit, and how frequent a flyer you are. For me (and others) it was several years. That likely makes a big difference. Don't assume it's going to happen for everyone, and probably not if you took the benefit <5 years ago.
They have been quick for a while nowWe finally got Mrs GO to VA WP through Family Pooling (existing VA bookings booked pre-devaluation) and I told her to apply instantly for HH Diamond through VA, ahead of a summer sojourn in the US and EU at a string of Hilton properties. Based on my own experience in 2023 and that of other AFF members in this thread, I told her to expect nothing back for 20 business days, then to chase VA on day 21, etc. Her first hotel booking in the US is in early July, so there would have been enough time to play the game, as annoying as it is.
Well, imagine my shock when Mrs GO reported back less than a week after applying through VA that she was now HH Diamond and had received an e-mail asking how they went with her experience! It is precisely how things should be but that doesn't seem to be anyone else's experience, so thought I would put it out there as a positive outcome.
