Hilton Diamond through Velocity Platinum status

I had the same - email said Gold, website said Silver. Went from Diamond to Silver, not to Gold. Which sucks, but then I was exclusively booking Hilton due to the status benefits, which I now won't worry about (space-available room upgrades are available to Gold, not Silver, which would have kept me with them).

Yes - I dropped to Silver, as well. I don’t know that I’ll bother chasing up on the basis of what the email said. I’ve only got enough travel in the coming calendar year to focus on the one program, and for me that will be Accor ALL, where I should reach Diamond later in 2025.

There might be a system wide issue. My email said I’d drop to Silver but crashed to “Member”…. Odd thing, it updated immediately after I bought some points to preserve my points….

My previous Gold was from a VA SG status match in 2023.

Spoke with HH on the weekend, they said you drop to whatever level matches the number of stays you had in the last year. In my case I was 3(?) nights below the minimum standard for Gold so I went from Diamond to Silver.

Likewise...drop to Silver. Doubt I'll use it again. It's a shame that getting back to Platinum with VA carries no other benefits after the first time with regard to hotels. Ill still stick with Accor.

I thought I had read reports of some getting a second bite of the hotel cherry when they requalified for Platinum? Had to call and request it, not automatic via website.

might just reach Platinum early next year so then hopefully go for diamond.Only want it for 1 year.

A recent data point.

I just re-qualified VA Platinum after 12 years of being a nobody. I hit QF LTG pre-COVID so there is no need to stay on that merry go round other than for work trips (and I'm quite enjoying VA for domestic and short international tbh).

Anyway, I called VFF to ask about getting the membership pack mailed out, noting the recent email saying that packs wouldn't be sent unless requested, and whilst on the phone I asked if there was any way to reset the HH Diamond and Europcar match offers as I had used them back in 2011 and that was pretty much a lifetime ago.
