Not sure if this is a right place to ask, but appreciated if anyone can share their experience.
Currently holding Qantas Ultimate Card and thinking of switch to Amex Explorer to earn MR points.
However I had trip in the future that I paid the outbound flight ticket with Qantas Ultimate Card.
Wondering if I downgraded to Amex Explorer and hold it at the time of the trip. Am I eligible to the travel insurance offered by Amex Explorer?

I would think no. The insurance would apply to the card you used for the payment.

thanks both for the advice.
I had a look at the amex explorer travel insurance policy and found this example for changing cardimg_1_1748085874477.jpg
it said different AMEX card products but didn’t said a change of product family would be covered.

Don’t believe it. Not clear. First sentence says no. Call Amex to define conditions and benefits.
