The view or two from my "office"

in the Arundel office today, gorgeous weather for UK. Parade through the main square yesterday evening, celebrating VE day + 80

Takes me back - thank you! Did you make it to Arundel Castle? I had the pleasure of having an overnight stay there as my former girlfriend became the au pair for Lord & Lady Arundel, so of course course I visited. Windy and drafts made it interesting before I fell asleep as I was in a wing of the castle that was uninhabited. Unbelievable artifacts from all the previous family members - full armour, weapons and a great history.

I did tour the castle after admiring the gardens. Heres another shot from the inside 495335709_10236871704070906_4806948629630663636_n.jpg

Love this place. I received a little patchwork teddy bear years ago that hangs in my car. The best canapés. And just a beautiful space.
They have made some 'enhancements' since the last time I was there. Hot canapés (3 per person) delivered to the table (plus a bowl of soup). Two other choices of small cold canapés, plus some dips and a cheese and a couple of sweet treats. Most lounges seem to have gone this way. I remember when it was all buffet :)

Indeed it is a bit of a limited selection now. You can get another order of the hot offerings but a bit wasteful if you only want one of the 3 that come.
Last night

Sweet potato cake, chilli crab bay and chicken karate.
But they also had a very nice tomato soup.

I don’t like using the QR code to get the menu.

No, I would go and look at the display offering but staff would ask if we wanted the 'hot selection' delivered at the time. I did enjoy the soup - we had a mushroom one on the first night and butternut on the second.
As we didn't have a cooked breakfast on either morning, we didn't need to use the QR code.

Its not every day that you drive into the Scottish countryside and climb over a electrified fence to trespass onto someone's land but today was the day for this fat, middle-aged woman 😂. If they put this in the Historical Scotland guide book they could at least install a gate
