Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but it seems like a pretty good deal on a reasonable airline.

I've checked that availability actually does exist, and it can be booked on Etihad website for a couple of hundred dollars more.

Interesting to read the comments in the ozbargain thread!!

Several people ‘not interested’ or ‘won’t book’ because it is two stops!!

So there you have it… the answer to the question of why someone would pay $4900 for PEY over $3800 for full business.

Think you can get on Batik flights for cheaper, but its a pretty reasonable deal. Pity EY can't be credited to VA though. On Google Flights, I have seen examples that use QF to SIN (for a few hundred more than that base price) - haven't actually tested it though.

This is truly why the AFF community is great, and also why I feel that we're somewhat sheltered from the complaints of many people. For us, we pretty much understand the rules of the game, and act accordingly. May regular 'bargain hunters', who get into the game for the savings only, often assumes that they can just get cash flights for xx% off, without much effort. An interesting case study :)
