Accor Plus Membership Discussion

So I realized I get free A+ through my Plat card but I just paid for it so it's not up for renewal until end Jan next year. Does anyone know what happens if I activate the benefit on my card? As it seems a waste to not use it in 2025...

my guess is it would register as the renewal for your next year, but it’s only a guess. I redeemed my Platinum benefit in the final month of my paid membership, and the membership just rolled over at renewal date.

So, I was gifted Accor Plus when I first got Amex Platinum in 2018. I downgraded my Amex card in 2020 and lost the benefit but recently accepted an upgrade offer and am back as Platinum. I ticked the benefit boxes on Amex and most (the ones I've checked at any rate) are fine except Accor Plus.

I double-checked with Amex and they confirmed it was okay at their end. I then contacted Accor Plus whose response says "If briarflyer remains an active and eligible American Express cardholder, it will be necessary for her to reapply for the Accor Plus benefit through American Express." They quoted my original 2018 enrolment and 2020 cancellation dates.

My question, given the "remains an active and eligible" wording, is can I reapply or am I ineligible because of the previous enrolment/cancellation?
