Strategy to obtain US Amex

Has anyone used a virtual card number with C1 before receiving the card? I'm a little hesitant to use it on international spend in case it gets flagged for fraud.

I was ultra cautious with C1. US only (online) spend prior to receiving the physical card.

Then physical card use in store, then Apple Pay, and now lots of virtual cards. It’s a great feature (virtual cards)

That's fair. I have a few bills to pay but I'm not sure if I'll get the card in time. My VX1 was only used via GPay or Physical and for international transactions. Not many DPs online so I might take the loss with this.

in relation to Billpay.
I know a few (hundred) pages back someone worked out that Alipay was being coded as Hilton Honors direct spend (roflmao) for 14x back on aspire. I dug deeper and noticed that there are (a range of) services promoting bpay via alipay, mostly in the language you would expect Alipay talk to be in.

Billpay meaning paying bills in general, or specifically Australians using Auspost to pay their bills?

Bill pay in the US context means services used to pay off a credit card. Some of them are not restricted to using funds directly pulled from a bank account, which should give you a hint as to how they can be subject to gaming/abuse.

Hi AFF Team,

I'm really having some challenges with my partner's application with Chase. Myself, personally, has finally had some luck with Cheese credit cards, and I have had four credit cards so far, and the last two has been fairly smooth process, which only requires ITIN form uploaded before approval. However, when it comes to my partner's application, this is already the second time that she tried to apply for Chase credit card. We have first already confirmed the ITIN over the phone, and then submitted the proof of address (used amex checking statement), ID, and the ITIN letter. We have then called the Chase numerous of times and it finally went to what's so-called a back-office review on docs (I noticed almost every time we call Chase we would received a mail warning us potential identity theft and ask us to call Chase to confirm it is my partner herself who applied for this card). Yesterday we called again and we were told that we have contacted the chase reconsideration team for multiple times and this is now the final decision that this application has been rejected due to documents supplied does not meet the back-office's requirement. They would not disclose any further information.

I wonder in this case should I keep trying reconsideration line or should I give up on this application and start fresh again in the next one or two months' time. Any help would be much appreciated.

How long has it been since she had an ITIN? How old is her first card?

Banks are tightening up lending so it doesn't surprise me if they're scrutinized each application more.

P2 got her ITIN Aug last year, tried apply Chase in October and been told to go to branch multiple times. Then I changed address from normal residential add to forwarding service (differernt state) add and got approved for C1 venture X in Dec. I was told after c1 application with Chase would be easier, but does not seem to be the case.

My recent Chase experience (last month) - multiple phone calls required, HUCA worked for me - unfortunately none of them would come out and say what was wrong other than present to a branch and they were sure all would be approved - I kept calling Fraud line and finally someone said - oh I can see an issue - let me fix it - sending off to processing and wait 3 days and should hopefully be sorted - 5 days alter got email approved and card arrived on weekend. So much luck in will someone help get you over the line - I would work on Fraud team to try and help clear the documents before it goes off to processing

Thanks for sharing. May I ask what did you provide as proof of address pls. I also noticed that with P2's chase application, she was never able to receive text message, but with my 3rd and 4th application I was able to receive them. We are both with tello.

I have exactly this experience with P2 for both Amex and Chase. P2 just had 1 Amex via GT a year ago then all other applications all failed or rejected or required 4506C forms which similar to rejected applications. I have no idea what else to do on P2 behalf

Pls tell us more about ‘normal residential to forwarding service ‘
