Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

I cannot get over how bad they have configured the plane with such tight seating! BA also has 30 inch seat pitch on their short hauls, but no where near as cramped!
Interestingly enough BA has picked the same seats as VA for their short haul refresh and effectively will become the same down the back

Disappointing! Dreadful seats!

Compare to seats used by many operators on the E190 jets… they can have the same 30 inch pitch but give heaps of legroom.

I'm on one tonight ... from 1A

Very AA'ish ...
Why was the first thing that came to my mind was "shower curtain"?

Compared to what we were told a long time ago that it would be something never seen before, well, I guess they're right on that one. I assume you have to pull the curtain all the way to one side to go through; the sound of doing that will alert the crew.

They implemented this first to alleviate the forward toilet problems. Could have waited until the perspect was finished and installed all together next year.

We're happy with it.
Ah so the perspect is to follow.....and it's certainly positive that crew like it....for starters...

Gets the job done. But still won't work against the "but I'm in economics X".

Someone posted the Alaska cabin with the dividers. It'll be similar to that

Actually I believe that shower curtains are now rather chic.....and making a come back...
As we can see (through) at row 2

It will look much better once a fixed perspex divider hangs from the overhead lockers.

The other alternative would have been short curtains which also hang from anbove and pull across the top of the seats, joining up with the main curtain.

Anyway… not worth the wait… BUT a huge improvement!

There was no other alternative. It's purely to do with cabin crew surveillance, casa requirements etc.

Didn't know that Economy X gives people that sense of entitlement (as opposed to the general laziness or insistence of those that sit at the front of the Y cabin).

Guess it isn't quite curtains for people to try it on :) (accessing the J toilet, not wearing the curtain).

Looks like the AS curtain has the ability to latch onto the perspex / plastic dividers. That'll be interesting to see (pun intended).

Also, it looks like the curtain rail is attached to a bay door for something stored above - I think this is emergency equipment? In any case, I guess there's no problems doing that.

Maybe if you live in Europe... and probably not the see-through kind either. :D
