Don’t know about “good” - Melb was a bit nippy when we landed this evening. SQ to SIN and JNB tomorrow so that should be warmer. Canberra has lived up to the adage about putting the heaters on on Anzac Day

Miss the serenity. Icy cold Chang beer on my balcony, listening to music and beautiful sunsets this time of the year.

Oh and admiring my roses. We do have quite a few solar lights around the place. Turn balcony lights off as the are lots of mosquitoes and these huge bugs after rains.

The tunnels through the rock at Karangahake Gorge have four small “windows” every hundred meters or so.

They offer very little light for the walk though the tunnel, but spectacular views of the gorge.



Standing on the walkway you can see in the photo above, you look back at the cliff through which you’ve just walked.

All four “windows” are visible.

The easiest to spot is I the left of this shot just below the overhanging rock in the foreground.

Look left to right at the same level and you might see the other three.

Warm but misty in Cornwall. The wild garlic is prolific. I used to call it onion weed at home.

Popped around to the Plantation Is golf course this morning for a look and booked in for a round tomorrow morning. During our walk we came across the resorts crop farm of various sorts. Makes sense to grow as much of the fresh stuff to save on freight (barge mostly) costs.

Pineapples and bananas under way...

..and plastic fruit juice bottles in full bloom... interesting.

From the office of people hoping to be elected to an office in CBR. Forget the democracy sausage. I went the democracy beef and gravy roll, followed by the democracy egg and bacon roll with some democracy dessert for later. Jolimont primary school. P&C funds should be nice and healthy after two elections in two months.

The snag line was longer than the voter line at my local. I pity the AEC volunteers. The fatty, succulent smells of bangers cooking was constantly wafting through the school hall.

But we moved on to the pub for democracy rump steak and red wine. I had intended to post an office pic also but was hungry….

Worse is the folks who were handing out the how to vote cards and not allowed in to access the democracy sausages. You really don't want to be standing downwind from the barbecue.
