I was brought up in a shore environment, mostly rocks but a bit of beach, so I am fully appreciative of what surf life saving does, also the coast guard. They do a great job.

Last Friday 11/04/2025. Not a great deal of points, but welcome all the same. I completely used my points on my next OS trip.

Thank you. I have just completed the course and got my "beach passport". I agree with others that the video or something similar should be shown on all Qantas flights coming into Australia.

Many years ago I was showing some UK friends around WA when we came across a lovely looking (unpatrolled) beach, where one of my friends really wanted to go for a swim. Looking at the water, there was something about it that made me feel very uneasy - a really bad gut feeling!
I managed to convince my friend not to go for a swim and we went on our way. Tragically, just a week later, some tourists drowned at that exact spot.

Having watched the video on the rips as part of the beach passport, I feel more confident in being able to actually define and hopefully identify a rip so that I can rely on a bit more than a gut feeling if I ever face a similar situation again.

A fair number of the 37,000 were from AFF. We were in it for the 150 FF points and keeping our QFF accounts active.

I was a little surprised at the 37,000 - better odds than Lotto!
Same result, though.
