Unless I am missing something your math is a little out. A 20%discount is equal to a 25% bonus, while a 30% discount equates to a roughly 43% bonus.
That's not true in general. it's only true for 50% discount/100% bonus. I guess it's a rough approximation at values close to those, but the further you move away from that, the less accurate it becomes. In general, a bonus is worth around half the same percentage of discount as long as points cost a fixed price.

For example an 80% discount you would need a 400% bonus to be equivalent value.
At the other end of the spectrum, a 5% bonus is only marginally different from a 5% discount. (95.24% full price vs 95.00% full price)
And to put a more AFF spin on it... I considered (but ultimately declined) buying Avianca Lifemiles at a 200% bonus. I would very definitely buy as many as the would sell me if they ever offered a 100% discount!!
and welcome to AFFChoice is offering a 40% discount right now for points. When was the last transfer bonus to Qantas FF? Seems like the last one was a while ago. Is it reasonable to expect another one within the next year or so? Just checking before taking advantage of this offer. Thanks
In 2023/2024 there was one in the October/November time frame. But history may not be a guide to the futureChoice is offering a 40% discount right now for points.
