Just catching a few minutes between checking my bags and doing paperwork before tomorrow's flight home and it's been such a lovely little gesture and nicety, I thought I would go through the pains of typing it here on the tiny phone keyboard.

Saturday morning at the Flounge, we go to sign in and the staff notice it's Mrs Cloud9's 40th. She's barely even NB, but off they go and get two pairs of the QF33 pyjamas and amenity kits for her, book her into an 830am spa session, and generally just layer on the loveliness from start to finish.

It was surpassed only by George who was looking after us on QF35 when he exclaimed he was going to spoil the lady rotten (and he did... didn't know they carried so much champagne on the MEL - SIN route) when he popped round to say hello just after take off. Such an absolutely smashing bloke (as were the rest of the crew). There is going to be one lovely letter getting pinged off about just how much of a positive impact this all made on a woman who is very definitely not a fan of flying.

I have to take my hat off. Qantas pulled this one off swimmingly. Mega brownie points.

Please say Happy Birthday to Mrs Cloud9 for us !
Big grin and thank you from the boss lady on the sofa.

Edited to add: As many gripes as I might have, Mrs Cloud9 has informed me on the way home from Singapura that I am to do a fair bit more QF flying over the next few months to get to and from meetings. They treated her so well, she wants Platinum for herself. She just doesn't want to have to do the hard miles without it...

See Qantas, for minimal investment you can make a positive impact. If only they took the long term approach......
In this case, I would also absolutely call out that it was Qantas' true strength - their PEOPLE - who created this amazing outcome. The hard product needs love and investment, but the people are (with only one real unfortunate incident) their real strength.
