We have booked a trip to Japan with TripADeal ( with QFF points) and I have managed to get the group booking reference number. When I enter this into my account, the flights come up but no opportunity to choose seats or upgrade. I have not received the documentation from TAD yet. I would really like to upgrade the return flight which is overnight, but it seems as if I have zero chance of doing this , either by points or cash ? I am a Gold member, doesnt seem to make any difference. Now that TAD are 100% owned by Qantas is there likely to be more cooperation between the two ? Also TAD have been known to change flights at the last moment so would I be wasting my money ?

Trip A Deal Packages come with the following warning in the T&Cs

"Please note, any Qantas flights used on this deal may be booked as part of a Qantas group ticket. Group tickets do not allow for any customisations including upgrades, seat selection or paid seating options. Any customisations would need to be requested at the airport upon check-in."

Turns me off considering Trip A deal, if something seems too good price wise it usually is.

This is what I am thinking too now. It will be our first, and possibly our last. Booked on an impulse without doing my research, lesson learned.

They packages seem to offer what they say on the tin, so not sure it's a too good to be true scenario.
