Hi.

I am having USD and i would like to convert to AUD.Can some suggest me the best place to exchange for the better price..I am living in Melbourne

Wait six months if you can.
You would be crazy to convert now at a rate of 1.14 (this was almost at 1.5 six months ago) unless you absolutely have to.

I agree probably better to wait, unless you absolutely have to.

I guess over the years have seen the Aussie sinking like a rock too many times.

KVB Kunlun gets a good review on forums.

The $A was been 79c on average over the last 5 years, and this year it was close to 40% below the $US. Can you wait until the $A falls so you make a tidy profit?

Wait as long as you can, my mate is a Economist with Big bank and he says that the Aus$ will get better. I have found that the Currency exchanges at Tulla are as good as anywhere.;)

But watch out for the parity parties.

I usually use Australia post if I need foreign currency.
There rates can be good (but not always the best).
However, it takes 24 hours to collect and they charge NO fees and NO commission. Just for this reason I use them.
Have you considered a "Travel Money" VISA card from ANZ/NAB?
These allow you to have an account in USD and save the fees on conversion.
Accepted online and pretty much everywhere in the States.
First load is free then a small 1% load fee.
David.

David I think you misread the OP. He has USD to get rid of.
