Lord Crewe Arms - amazing hotel. All the staff were excellent except for the grumpy barman in a lovely little bar

They are not allowed to change the windows in the bedroom and it was amazing how much breeze came through them but once the curtains were closed it was much better

Last from the Lord Crewe Arms

They used the bellows to get the fire going in one of the dining rooms. There isn't a lift anywhere and the staff had to run up and down stone stairs bringing food and drinks and wood for the fires. I asked one of the girls how many fire places there were and she said 'too bloody many;'

The Grade 2 listing rules are tough @VPS . It looks like they are not allowed to change the mattress too.
