Some QF 744 flights are now going with no F class but with the F class cabin operating as J. I have seats on a couple of flights traveling J but with seats allocated in the First class cabin. Has anyone else done this recently, I have a question.

Do they make the bed for you, the duvet and little mattress pad or do you just get a blanket like in the Skybed?

Anything else different or just standard J service?

My parents recently flew SFO-SYD in J but seated in 2E/F.

It was standard J service, no mattress and duvet, just the blanket. Apparently everything except the seat was exactly same as their trip over to SFO in 11J/K.

Of course, YMMV.

I had the same experience - standard J service, just a better seat. :)

Still, I wasn't complaining! I'd deliberately selected 1A on the off-chance that the (usually) 2 class service was going to be replaced with a 3 class service...and it was. :D

Cheers,
- Febs.

How'd you find 1A Febs? :)

on a similar topic what are others' experiences in premium economy when seated in business seating ie - service, staff attitude etc?

Not quite the same, but a mate has been booked in Y and allocated a PE seat. The food was standard Y food.

Hope to be able to comment on that after next Friday!

If you miss 1A you would be in the closet!

Very nice pick and ranks up there with 1K.

A quiet spot with great Qantas service.

You turn left when entering the cabin and walk as far as you can and you will find it just to your left. You can't miss it, really :p
If you are still having trouble even after the detailed description from NM, I can always lend you my GPS with world maps :!:

Was in J sold as Y+ (after an upgrade on SYD-SFO last week) and crew were not too bad. About the same as normal Y+ I'd say. My friend and I had one of the made-to-order baguettes and the crew had no problems making them. They did warn it would take a while (as they do take a while usually) and they came with a smile. Booze was also duly served and re-filled in prompt order. Overall, I'd say it was equal to the Y+ service, just in the J cabin.

(Oh, and sorry I didn't catch you at SFO the other week. I ran a little late and didn't get to the AC in time :( )
