Arriving into T3 later this year - it seems there is no longer access to an arrivals lounge - since that seems to be in T5. Have I got this right?

Kangaroo route flight are to move to T3 on Oct 29th.

Apparently, the AA Arrivals lounge will be available for those with access - whether this includes WP's who have travelled in WHY I know not.

I'm doing a fair bit of Y and Y+ travel into terminal 3 in the coming months, so would love to know the entry conditions of the AA arrivals lounge.

The "rule" is AA elites plus BA gold and premium pax. I was allowed in as WP but i think that was luck rather than right.

I've used the AA arrivals lounge in T3 twice now - the first time I showed my Qantas Platinum card and was welcomed - the 2nd time I had to show my boarding pass to prove that I was flying either J or F: they very nice lady on duty explained that the lounge was normally open to only premium pax + AA eltites + BA gold. Be good if they extended a welcome to OW Emerald passengers as a matter of fact, rather than by happenance.

Many thanks for the responses. I'll try to access the lounge with my QF Platinum card and see how I go.

Cheers

My understanding is that you need to be J or F to gain entry (which is fine as I am travelling J).

My question is can you collect your checked baggage and then go have a shower or must you shower and then collect baggage, leaving unclaimed luggage on the carousel for 30 minutes......something I am not very keen on.:(

I believe the arrivals lounge is the "other side" of immigration, baggage reclaim and customs. Once you have cleared customs turn right and head up the stairs/escalator.

So you need to pick your baggage up first and take it with you.

No, you in fact must collect your luggage first as the lounge is landside. There is luggage storage area in the lobby area of the lounge (the only 'security' appears to be that it is within sight of the reception desk, but mine survived a couple of hours there - checked bag only of course, my valuables went inot the lounge with me) or I guess you could lug it all in with you. There is room enough in the shower rooms for all your luggage as well.

Thanks for quick reply

With a lengthy T3 to T5 transit, is it worth going landside and trying either the AA or BA arrivals lounges? I'm wondering how to best kill some 6 hours. I read QF F will get me into the T5 arrivals but in departures the spa is unlikely and even less likely the CCR. Frustrating when travelling F & OWE, what more can I do?

Please elaborate who you are flying with from T5?

Have to be flying Club or above to use Spa facilities in BA Galleries or First.

Are bags checked through to next destination? A quick ride into London on HEX and a spot of Oxford St shopping??

Mainline BA in Y for now because of the fare type, thinking of upgrading it to club if I can. I'm arriving early and will be making my way back a few days later so didn't think it was worth the time & cost for HEX. Was planning on being a lounge rat for the morning. My choice regarding the bags - would I need to recheck the bags if planning on going landside? The more I think about it, the more I'm realised I'm confused about the process. :(

You won't get in to the CCR unless you're flying F or are Premier card holder.

Sent from my iPad using Aust Freq Fly app

So if flying QF F you can access the CCR?

My understanding is you used to with the JSA and all but since T5 you don't. Can somebody confirm this? I think I'd still prefer F on QF A380 wo/ CCR somehow over BA.
