What cheeses me off

Yes but unless I'm wearing glasses I can't see that. Didn't know which country he was even flying from (hence I said 'flying from wherever' in the first post.) And also that people know where to look, and expect to need to look, in the scene where it flashes in. I'm suprised Lynda didn't mention it as well. Maybe she missed it too.

Given the explanation given by @Guvner, that needs to be the story here but they completely missed the chance.
Especially given that at the point of departure there are a dozen QF jets in the background! Which would suggest departing from SYD, not Tokyo!

That's interesting and I'll take note of that next time.

I've seen the ad since. And I expect for privacy concerns, that boarding pass is a fast passover and maybe even blurred and certainly not the screenshot provided earlier.

It does seem to be the screen shot provided earlier. Not blurred at all.
But I agree re the numerous QF birds on the tarmac. :)

Myabe there are different versions. So you are saying that they actually showed his name?

Interesting about the tarmac though.

It certainly is that screenshot! I paused the video on YouTube to take the screenshot. Perhaps you should look for yourself before making such definitive claims.

As mentioned by @Lynda2475, the ad is shown repeatedly when you watch a box set of tv shows on a flight. I looked at the boarding pass as I was interested in the departure port with multiple Qantas planes which is odd for a foreign airport.

There’s a fair bit of artistic licence in the ad :)

The ‘pre-boarding’ shot is clearly sydney, and he’s going to catch a domestic flight… but then he wouldn’t be sleeping in PJs for that short hop.

But it’s a lovely ad!

Fair enough. My apologies.

I don't think you can compare the visual experience and therefore impressions gained from watching an ad on TV versus reviewing it on Youtube and watching it multiple times on a flight.

And as others have now commented, much artistic licence.

Shame. The back story is fabulous. But the opportunity to tell that story was missed.

When you specifically book a hotel that advertises a guest laundry so that you can have clean clothes ahead of next leg of a trip only to learn upon check thzt you have to go to related property to do so. That being the hotel across the street (leser quality hotel in same chain).

Probably not a problem if you have a car but when you have to walk almost 1km around the block with no footpath in 105F heat it CMO.

Not to mention realised I forgot an item but instead of being able to go to room to retrieve I need to go without laundering it because don't want heat stroke.

last time we were in New orleans we used a pickup laundry service called tryhampr.com
Thanks but back in Dallas now.

Will do the missing item (one pair of shorts) once in London, unlikely to need them there as looks winterlike, and can use friends laundry for free.

Parents who think it's ok to inflict their unruly toddler on strangers in inappropriate setting.

Last night I went to hotel restaurant hoping for a quiet late dinner circa 9:30pm. As there were heaps of kids at tables, I opted to walk into the bar area and eat at the bar, assuming would be kid free.

Am halfway through eating my meal when this guy comes and sits right next to me holding a 2 year old. Firstly rude not to leave a gap when there were adequate seats and secondly who brings a kid to sit at the bar when there were tables in the restaurant?

Was hopeful bar tender would tell him no kids at the bar, but nope.

Toddler then starts reaching for food on my plate, Dad does nothing, so I have to move to further down the bar, to avoid grotty toddler hands touching my meal.

Smart electricity meters...
Not happy chook.
So no meter reader needs to come to my place, saves at least 3 businesses money, but my electricity bill still goes up due to CPI.
Not to mention that they can cut my power off in hot conditions, yep, also saving the producers money.

CPI plus plus plus. Some in SA have risen 40%!

WCMO?

While at the back, they are well within the space!

That is just being arrogant.

WCMO. People who wear masks AND then run across the lights on a red light and at angles. Masks do not prevent everything.

WCMO. Cars who slow down to almost crawl before reaching a green light. The light changes to yellow. They cross. You can’t.

WCMO. Cars on open limit roads cruising at 85-90 then speed up to the speed limit on overtaking areas. Preventing you overtaking and then, too late to pass, they move back to 85-90. Happens ALL the time.

Don't visit Queensland! :)

So, can you tell I've been on open roads again today.

WCMO. Cars in right lane travelling at the same speed (aka 10 k's under the speed limit) keeping pace with the car and caravan in the left lane. Noses pointed straight ahead oblivious to the traffic jam they were creating behind them. Luckily I got through just as the gap between him and caravan car was closing but was watching the jam from afar.

WCMO. Im doing the speed limit, maybe 1-2 k's over (100 kmh road). Car overtakes me. Cuts in with just 1 car length. No oncoming traffic. Then proceeds to travel at - 100 kmh. 🤬. Just Why?
