I don't know if I replied to this already, but I'll probably drop by after work drinks.

Cool. This week I'm based on Flinders St, right across the river from Crown, so I should be able to handle walking ~50-100 metres... Would it be wrong of me to use a cabcharge? :p

Just a courtesy note: The other half and I will be there slightly late, around 1800-1830 - he'll be coming in straight from work and I have to pick up a top I'd sent for alteration.

Mr & Mrs munitalP will be there at about 1745ish depending on traffic...

Mr!

:)

I hope to be there ~1730.

What's the deal with parking there? Is it both plentiful and reasonably priced?

Park under the casino - if you give me a call 5 before you get there, I'll give you a card for free parking, I'll race down and meet you opposite jeff's shed... or if we are both still on the road, we'll arrange a meeting point somewhere...

Cheers munitalP! Will endeavour to do so...

I'm beginning to think we should really really make a booking at The Pub .. maybe something like a table for 10-12 (in the restaurant part) from 6 pm onwards?

No doubt I'll be there the earliest, unless I find something to do in the afternoon.

I guess asking if it's likely to be busy on a Friday is a silly question, would booking a table be beneficial or cost extra?

I can't see any good reason for them to charge us extra $$ for a reservation.

Have called them - if I make a booking, it will only be available from 6:00 to 7:30. Is everyone OK with that?

Sounds good. :)
Hmm, we might require bookings at 1806 as well? Depending on what time we head over, it could be rather busy late Fri eve.

yeah, im easy as well regarding booking - at the end of the day, its not a bad idea to book

Mr!

:)

Tried contacting 1806 to make a booking for 10-11pm, but have been told to wait for a call back from the manager tomorrow as s/he's the person that handles all bookings.

If we end up there any earlier than 10, the place will be rather empty and so we wouldn't really need the booking. I figured 10-midnight are their busier times.

So, apparently The Pub at Crown is the sort of fine dining establishment :)shock:) that books out a month in advance! I was told that our best bet was to try walking up and seeing if they can accommodate us on the night.

Another restaurant that might be worth trying at Crown is Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons - a "modern italian" resto at Crown that only does walk-ups. Good food, prices on the higher end of reasonable (but then again, that describes most places at Crown).

So, no can do on the booking. Sorry. :(
