They are not appearing for me like usual.
@Lynda2475 referred to a "new dashboard" so I thought maybe something had changed.
But thanks for your helpful response.

There was/is a new dashboard but it came and went for me. No idea what’s happening with the IT.

I noticed the complimentary lounge invitation portal is out of action as well.

I’m not aware of one but is there a general QF thread for current bonus points earn offers? Or anyone know a good website that collates offers?

I‘m going to be relatively close to getting to PC+ for the first time with still 5 mths to run. I’m not into CC churning but I do get the occasional AMEX offer to upgrade my existing CC - which I’ll probably do. I figure I could be 6 or so decent QF Wine bonus points offer on top of regular monthly earn but some cheaper options (like the Optus promo) could actually be worth while.

Before you sink any money into this, do make sure you would get benefit from PC+.
  • If you will fly with Qantas in economy and have no status, then the QP access is a real benefit.
  • If you stay in Qantas Hotels, then the extra $50 voucher and the bonus points per stay is a real benefit.
  • If you buy Qantas wines, then the extra $50 voucher is a real benefit.
If none of the above, then I would not invest anything in reaching PC+. If you do think you would get benefit, make sure you don't spend more than the benefit is worth.

Oh, I’m not intending to sink any significant cash but if there’s a couple cheap bonus offers - I’m in. I still have time.

I‘m existing WP/LTG, so the QP has zero value (as discussed earlier, a pity that couldn’t be gifted). The vouchers will get used as will the extra discount on wine.

There’s a risk I’ll drop back to SG in August (no further status keeper for July anniversary dates onwards) but future bookings should have me back within the following member year. 100 SC rollover and 50 Green Tier will at least take the sting out of the 1400 attain WP instead of 1200 retain…

+100SCs of rollover, which Qantas won’t be offering anymore as a part of their status support offerings after the June YE membership group clocks over.

That’s the single item that’s of interest to me. The others I don’t need or I’ll give away. Hadn’t been chasing PC+; but some things have aligned to make it possible.

Cheers,
Matt.

I figure promos that can help with PC+ are "enough" at home in this thread. I think I'm in a similar boat to you - I won't get PC+ by default, but if I tried a bit, I probably would get there.

- from time to time, Qantas card offers are decent if you were going to spend somewhere anyway (eg. 800 points for $100 at bonds)
- current qudos bank 2000 points for a saver account
- could be worth checking out the insurance options, the cost comparison to my existing insurers has seemed close so far (car, home, health)

Yep, the various QF Insurance ones (Health and Car) are generous and have their own threads.
I’m reluctant to switch since I’m on Grandfathered plans for each and will cost more in the long run.

The Red Energy offers come around every other week - 15k plus ongoing pts per spend.
Haven’t really compared that.

Superhero upto 36,000 pts is doable - just need to check the fine print:

I just noticed that LJ Hooker also gives pts for leasing property. We have an apartment already managed by them. I must remember to trigger this offer if we issue a new lease agreement!

I was pointed to the various Woollies gift card promos (EDR -> QFF). Not something I’ve done in the past (but a hobby for others) but at least the money spent is still going on something you’ll ultimately need anyway.

I'm posting this here because I figured my fellow PC members would be the only people who would understand.

My PC+ membership year reset at 1 January. As of Saturday (six days ago) I had only accumulated 25,000 points towards my PC+ renewal. I was waiting on a health insurance bonus and I had been waiting for Westpac bonus points since January. I called Westpac and they said they were not giving me bonus points because they disagreed with me over the closure date of my last Westpac card. They said they would investigate but gave me no hope that I would get the points.

I was really depressed to have made so little progress going into the third month of the year. Waiting on Westpac had wasted two months of churning opportunities and I was looking at a third month followed by time overseas. Add that to the demise of Check My Trip and I was feeling totally disillusioned with chasing points.

Now things have changed. I got my 70,000 health insurance points, which was cheerful but expected. I then called Westpac again and told them I would close my card and seek a reimbursement of the annual fee if they did not give me my 90,000 bonus points by the March statement date (today). I got 83,000 of those points on Wednesday and got 11,000 points today as the balance of the bonus plus spend this month.

So a week after having only 25,000 points towards my PC+, I now have 189,700. And once my payment to Westpac has gone through, I can close that card and apply for something else - maybe one with an SQ bonus for a bit of variety.

I feel like I have a spring in my step again. Glad to be a points chaser.

It s tough having to fight all the time to get the points. But then it's all good when you press that lie flat button on that 10+ hour flight.

Thanks. My method is to not requalify and drop to nothing and then requalify in a couple of months and have that status for the best part of two years.

Since I am WP anyway, PC does it for me. The 100 SC rollover for PC+ is not a real consideration.

I plan on doing the same as I have quite a a bit of points banked up in transferable points (means I can also choose not to go with QF later as well).

One thing, if your PC+ is expiring do you still get the 100 status rollover for the next year?

I would imagine not. I.e. if you qualify mid year, at the end of the year you get the 100sc and your point reset to 0. You are still PC+ for the next 12 months, but if you fail to requal, at the end of the year you drop to PC (if soft landing is a thing??) or drop to nothing without a second serve of 100sc rollover.

Same thing happened to me, but if you check in notices it has all letters that have been sent to you from Westpac. I found my previous closure notice and it was dated more than 12 month prior to my new applications.

They paid me the points about a week later after investigating.

Oh yes, I have just found my closure letter and it is dated exactly as I expected. I wonder where Westpac got their alternative closure date from.
