Whoa there big fella. Gotta issue you with a speed fine, mate. Public servants and perks. What perks?Free travel for life.Public servants and the "perks" written in the conditions of employment. Don't retired railway staff get free rail travel for life?
Enough said....
I am led to believe that most high ranking public servants, including politicians, have unbelievable perks written into their employment contracts.Whoa there big fella. Gotta issue you with a speed fine, mate. Public servants and perks. What perks?![]()

Not all private sector companies are generous with the perks. Most small businesses cant afford the perks. You have to be very high in the public service to get any kind of perk...
and these pale into comparison with the private sector, both in terms of perks and renumeration (but are compensated for in terms of job security and life work balance)
Put it this way, I know that for may domestic trips the old head of my agency flew economy... (we've just had a chance... not sure what the new policy is)
Are you sure? How about contractors?FYI IBM's travel policy is everyone travels Y.
Umm, free travel on sydney suburan trains. great that's a reason to move to sydneyI think you will find that the NSW transport travesty is a State Owned Corporation.
I think you're confusing public servants and politicans there. as is drron with the comment about a NSW minister. Public servants, those of us employed by the government, have very few perks written into there contract and the perks that do exist do not continue once they leave the job. About the bigges tperk I've seen someone have is a car and a car park. Whoopy do. These are people on executive level with government, so they are subject to termination with just about no notice.I am led to believe that most high ranking public servants, including politicians, have unbelievable perks written into their employment contracts.
Positive.Contractors are not IBM employees. However I did look at a short term position in China doing clinics for expats and the travel was Y.Are you sure? How about contractors?
