I'm not sure . While Jewel is open 24hrs, Most stores only open from 10am. Certainly there is time but the exit from and reentry to airside will reduce the value of the paid lounge entry. Don't forget that security clearance is at the gate
Agree, not sure it is worth it at that time of the day, the rain vortex only operates from 11am, and the paid lounge in Jewel itself is, by all accounts, not worth it.

On the security at the gate thing, that is the one thing that makes short landside visits entirely possible, as you don't have the uncertainty of a central security checkpoint. Anyone who already has a BP and who doesn't have mobility issues should still easily be able to make their flights going airside 30 mins before departure (or even 25 mins before if departing a gate close by to immigration.

Currently in Changi en route to DPS. Departed ADL this morning 10.30am. Some food pics.. :) Didn’t partake of the 2nd service as we had 3hrs here, and then the next flights will be another 3 course ensemble.

Apart from the classic lobster there are some nice spicy dishes on BTC. I normally order them for breakfast, they’re usually much better than another bland and boring western breakfast.

Yes the Western breakfast is a bit blah, I guess I'm comparing Singapore to Qatar, and how they present the food... I'd never fly QR but their food and presentation looks amazing.

I’ve flown QR few times and while I don’t have as much experience with them as with SQ my impressions were QR F&B is much better in J while SQ is slightly better in F (more the wine list rather than food itself).

Any tips or things I should look out for, just redeemed a J Class SIN to SYD sector on the 380 in May.

Been a long time since I have flown J with Singapore. Have about 12 hours in SIN as coming in on Emirates F in the morning.

does anyone know if it is possible to claim the double bed seats on a redemption booking (Seats 11D & 11F or 91D & 91F)
SQ 221 • Airbus A380-800
?

Seats 91D/F used to be open for selection at the time of booking but have been blocked since. Your best bet is to try and secure them few days before departure once the whole seat map is open.

You cannot ‘book’ with a rdpt - only claim if available within 96 hrs I think - in the good ol’ days when I had Crystal, Elly and Mia in KF call ctr at my fingertips they were able to break them free - but alas those days way behind us - am now working on a new contact in MNL call ctr and it looks promising

Just booked J on an A380 with the following layout: SeatGuru Seat Map Singapore Airlines

I went for 94K to avoid the wing but as it's an overnight flight in winter it won't matter all that much. I'm curious whether the smaller cabin at the rear is worth the walk (!) so tell me, which row would you pick? (Bulkheads are all gone, so you can't pick those.)

Also, would you go A for the morning sunrise or K to avoid it? (Flying SIN-MEL)

I actually picked 15K for a trip I have back from Singapore to Sydney in May, so yeah doubt I will have a good view. Depending on what runway, I always thought right hand side was better for a view over the harbour in the morning.

I went forward cabin as wanted to be ahead of the engines and also away from the gallery. All bulkhead seats were also gone as well.
