It is a LCC, so maybe you do just get what you pay for...

"A Tiger Airways flight from Melbourne to Perth with 180 passengers “went missing” yesterday after the crew opted to turn back because of possible fog in Perth.

Anxious friends and relatives were allegedly left in the dark at Perth Airport early yesterday when Tiger Airways ground staff were apparently unable to advise those awaiting the Airbus A320 where it was."

LCC or otherwise, taking people back to MEL, and giving them a refund (not even another flight option) is extremely poor form. I doubt that another carrier would provide cheap flights to TT customers at such short notice.

NIGELINOZ, you have hit the nail on the head, if this was QF it would be a national outrage, but it hasn't even raised a side comment on nonews (aka the anti QF brigade)

TheWestAustralian said:
Mr Robinson said passengers were furious and were told they must wait up to six weeks for a refund.
Not only were they not offered another flight but they will have to wait to get a refund as well. What about the people booked on the PER-MEL flight?

"Thanks for flying with Tiger Airways. Have a nice day...."

As I have just posted on another thread I'm surprised the go around of a QF A380 at LHR on Sat didn't make the front pages of News Ltd.
I'm not expressing a view that it should have by the way but given their history of treating anything even remotely bad as an excuse to bag them I'm still amazed.
It did make The Australian yesterday though.
(Unless of course I missed it-I didn't buy any newspapers on the weekend,or Monday)
Apologies if I did miss it BTW !
