I see both sides. The Yes and the No. In this case I am just hoping for Yes.

You may hope for a yes, but the answer will be almost certainly be no. The only hope for a yes would be is you were the only passenger in the F cabin.

Highly unlikely that they will let them beyond the curtain!!

I sat in QF First Class for ~1 hour a few years back while my friend was drinking and talking to the female FA at the galley. It is not what you know but who you know and better still how you treat them. If you ask nicely they may let you into First Class for a visit.

I was eventually asked to leave as some of the snobs in First Class got jealous....

Did you also read the posts by several senior cabin crew from BA? They all said they would normally deny such a request and they hate being asked because it puts them in a position to give an answer that is likely to disappoint. They also said that in most cases when it has been done, the visitor has overstayed their welcome and has to be asked to leave.

After I made the post here, I continued to read. Still reading all the pages. There is a lot of noise in there to sift through. Much more than you get on here.

I don't think QF will allow it. I was in F on the A380 LHR-SYD about 4 weeks ago. We bumped into a friend at the gate but she was in whY. She was returning from a funeral for her brother and when I mentioned this to the QF First Host she upgraded our friend from whY to Premium whY. However when she gave me the good news she added "Of course she will not be able to come down to visit you but you may go upstairs and visit her."

For the record I agree with you. In fact I'm with Jerry Seinfeld on this: that curtain is no security - there really should be a locking door.

At least until another F pax asks the FA "why is there a passenger from Y visiting in this cabin? Why are you allowing this to happen? I really must object".

I agree with NM here. I think that you should ask the CSM for permission as this is the right thing to do - it is their aircraft afterall.

I have gone back from F - Y to visit and sit with a friend before but never considered bringing them up to F (not because I didn't like them but because I believed that I would have got a no).

Another vote for asking the CSM and letting them make the call.

Only time I've asked is when 4 of us were flying BA F and the other two in our party were upstairs in J. F was only about half full (it was Boxing Day) and we asked the CSM about halfway through the flight if the others in our party could come down and take a look at the F cabin. He was more than willing to accommodate them (we only brought them down one at a time) - even had a joke about the catering upstairs and offered our visitors the same desserts we were eating at the time.

I would not normally ask the question and put the staff in an awkard situation however the CSM had already joked with us when we boarded the aircraft about two of our party sitting separately from the rest and he had implied it wouldn't be a problem if they came down to visit during the flight.

Don't get me wrong. I will be asking and not assuming. Just I will take the BA flight as I see it as a greater chance of success.
