Apologies posting here but I didnt want to start yet another thread and this thread seems relevant.

I'm doing early planning for Thailand trip April next year and I've come to the conclusion that airfares are ridiculously expensive with Qantas but SQ has some OK airfares but I don't want to be in Thailand for another Songkran.

If I'm going to go SQ then I may as well go before 28 Feb 2023.

Have I got this right for BNE-SIN-BKK return?

SQ flight number V class earns 45 SCs each way but only half Velocity points. So for 3 of us that's 270 SCs return pooled to me? Wife and daughter get 25kg luggage allowance each and I get 45kg which is perfect for golf clubs. And lounge access in BNE and SIN and hopefully BKK lounge opens soon.

Just about gets me gold another 12 months.

You're correct about the SC earn, BNE-SIN in V is 30 and SIN-BKK is 15.

2346 velocity points per direction for BNE-SIN-BKK is also expected.

SQ are more than happy to pool allowance across passengers in a Single booking.

25kg is the standard allowance (for cheaper economy fares like V) and the gold bonus is 15kg meaning your allowance would be 40kg but technically it'd just be 90kg between the three of you.

Worth noting that access to Singapore Airlines lounges is for the Gold member plus one guest (children are not seperate to this allowance) so you will only get access to the SQ lounges for yourself and one other person unless they hold status.

The only exception to above is if your daughter is travelling on an infant ticket (under 2) at which point they allow access but worth noting that infant luggage allowance is only 10kg regardless of ticket.

Thanks @henrus.

I do realise that lounge access is for 1 other person. So I'll have to see if I can somehow let wife and daughter access lounge without me if the 3 of us cannot enter together.

Good to know that we could pool luggage allowance. I think my idea of going next January is not a good one and if we go April I will lose Virgin Gold by then so 75kgs between 3 of us is good as we can have 20kgs each + golf clubs.

No, you as the person with the status are entitled to entry plus one guest you bring.

The access provided to you the Gold member can't be passed on to anyone else.

That's fine. If we miss out on lounge access then we miss out.

I'm sure wife will say take the little one inside so she can relax. I can also try sweet talking my way in with both wife/daughter.

If that fails I can leave her at reception for the lounge staff to take care of her? ;)

No you need "Solitaire PPS Club Platinum Emerald Plus" Status for that service.
