So who wants to run their magic 8-Ball over this classic flight reward booking?

Honestly I don't know why I am even trying this. Looking for some european internal flights, GVA- BCN and QF shows classic award availability via MAD on IB that times that suit. BA, IB and Expert flyer don't show anything. But for the cost of loaning 105 CHF to Qantas (and the pain I will spend getting it back)...

What does your magic 8-ball say are my chances of getting this ticketed?

I booked an award flight to UK this morning and it was ticketed immediately. On MH

Moderate - but what pain ahead if there are changes and you have to do the call centre roulette with a decent chance of getting it, or a portion of it, accidentally cancelled?? @Pushka is braver than me. I wouldn't book a points flight on a partner airline using QFF points ATM.

Not sure why someone would turn a $40 1hr 25min flight on a LCC into an all day affair at triple the cash cost plus 14,000 points but hey each to their own.

Well yes I am braver than you. Already been overseas since covid 😌. Caught covid overseas. 🤦‍♀️ Symptomless too. But I am not going to touch it now 😂 But my seats are all safely selected on MH so all good. I booked two actually.

Potentially phantoms?

I guess try to book it and see... go on.. be daring... what do you have to lose except hours of pain, frustration, loathing and possibly hair? :D

If the seats are phantom it will fail before you get to the ticketing - or $$ - step. So it should be fairly risk free to try the booking.

Although I agree with others, it’s probably a fare I would look to purchase as a revenue ticket.

I booked London to Prague this morning and got ticketed straight away

Short notice inter Europe flights are expensive at the moment. Sometimes LCC are more expensive when you factor in baggage. Can even make Qantas look cheap
