Virgin Australia will cap off a hectic few months of activity with what it’s promising as “one of the most exciting and unique aviation events of 2022.”

Invitations are now doing the rounds for a special event at the Virgin’s Brisbane Airport hangar late next week “to celebrate a new era of flying.”

While hinting at a social media play, suggesting that attendees "Get your Gram ready as this is one you won’t want to miss”, the airline is otherwise keeping its powder dry.

Hmmmmm 🧐

Star Alliance?
New Uniforms?
New Biz?
Transcontinental Biz?
New Livery?
787?

It will be the Max and the new seats that have been doing the rounds on the Silkair birds.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'd also put money on this. Plus maybe a special livery or two (e.g AFL an/or either a Queenstown Tourism or Bali related tourism AOA).

I would put money on new uniforms. Love the current ones and have a certain nostalgia as I had my own set once, but they have been around for long enough so a refresh is due now the money is there.

Fully expect MAX cabin reveal for trans-continental as well.

No chance for a new livery imo (it's not required, they have zero need to redefine the brand). When you think about what the airline's been through, the administration and new ownership, and it's come out basically smelling like roses (unless you were a former bond/stock holder)...

A bit left-field, but this event will be 3 days after the VA/UA partnership begins. Perhaps United will fly a 787 to BNE to announce the launch of new a BNE-SFO route? 🤷‍♂️
UA are still short of aircraft due to the 777 P&W groundings.

Only chance of BNE getting a route from UA is if Premier Annastacia stumps up the cash (Through Tourism Queensland) to basically partially subsidise the service. The 789 and 77W are too premium heavy to service Brisbane, and the 787-8s are fully utilised, thus Annastacia will have to stump up a considerable subsidy package to pull off the "Rob Peter to Pay Paul" to get up to 2 787-8s pulled from a more profitable European/African port to serve Brisbane. ;)

‘Get your gram ready’.

It’s obviously something that is worth taking a photo of so that won’t be WiFi.

They also said ‘unique’.

So new In-flight product with has some form of unique touches?
'Get your 'gram ready' so you can you our ultra fast free inflight wifi...

Annastacia has no problems forking out money - Wellcamp comes to mind. After all the state borrowings are"only" $124 billion.

We can only hope that we don't need Wellcamp - if a harsher variant of Covid-19 appears then all bets may be off once again.
