Jetstar has released a bunch of sale fares on international routes, which it says is the first sale on international flights it has run in nearly 2 years. Sale running 26-30 October 2021.

Jetstar International Sale

If someone could explain to me why the sale fares from Melbourne to Singapore and coughet cost less than a flight to Auckland, or SYD-HNL costs less than SYD-NAN, I would be interested to know!

From Jetstar Newsroom:

Some of the incredible low fares include:

  • Cairns to Osaka (Kansai) from $199^
  • Darwin to Singapore from $109^
  • Gold Coast (Coolangatta) to Queenstown from $165^
  • Gold Coast (Coolangatta) to Tokyo (Narita) from $219^
  • Melbourne (Tullamarine) to coughet from $149^
  • Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Auckland from $175^
  • Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Singapore from $149^
  • Sydney to Honolulu from $179^
  • Sydney to Fiji from $199^
  • Sydney to coughet from $149^

MEL-HKT is $237 return in Y - now that's a pretty good deal IMHO, even for Jetstar. The required COVID tests will probably cost more than that!

There are some decent J fares as well, e.g. MEL-HNL for $549 or SYD-SGN for $499 or MEL-SIN for $449.

Yeah... I saw the club jetstar prices... $450 or something one way in business class to HKT. You can join the club as part of the booking process... $55. The only thing is that you can't get discounts on the max bundle with membership... at least that I could see.

Looking at the seat maps for the first few couple of flights the prime seats in row 1 had mostly gone. So there was some pretty immediate demand.

MEL-HKT is available for $499 one-way in J, without Club Jetstar membership. But if you want a Max Bundle, it's $1,079 one-way - more than double the price! Those are some expensive status credits...

HKT-MEL is $438 in J.

👍 I was looking at them last night -maybe that was the 'pre-sale' period for Club members?

Tempted... but 8 hrs is a really long time on JQ.

Wow…. some incredible fares there… I’ve just booked US with QF though…. Decisions…

I wonder if I am the only Qlder who is angry that people can fly to Fiji RT for $400 from SYD and we are still stuck here.

Plus one 😂

I’m furious about how slow the vaccination rollout has been here too.

I couldn't see anything under $999 for business SYD-BKK, which is quite a bit up on pre-covid.

Was I missing something?
