Best hotel lounges?

Perhaps a bit OT but thought I'd mention that having Titanium Status (top tier) with GHA Discovery does not give you lounge access. As a Titanium you are entitled to a 2 level upgrade STA, but if you don't get the upgrade you don't get the lounge access.

It's offered as a 'Local Amenity' for Titanium (ex. Black) at some GHA brands, like Pan Pacific Hotels - or at least, it was - but you only really find out when talking with them directly. If unsure, it's best to enquire with the property before booking about what benefits apply with them.

Cheers,
Matt.

When +1 and I stayed at the Park Royal Parramatta recently we had lounge access as it came with the room we booked. Interestingly I didn't receive a local amenity and whilst I didn't say anything at the property I did mention it when I got the "How was your stay" email". I got a thank you for your feedback email from the manager.

Staying OT for a moment... I've had lounge access on lead-in room bookings at Pan Pacific Singapore (my favourite lounge in the world) & Park Royal properties in Singapore, when I was GHA Black... but it might have changed since then. I wish they would just list the benefits openly so it was easy to decide!

Cheers,
Matt.

NY Hilton Waldorf Astoria Towers... just because it's the NY Hilton Waldorf Astoria Towers!
Sadly closed and who knows when opening again. To be honest their own labeled NZ sourced "champagne" on offer was rubbish, rest exceptional.

Covid certainly has changed things. Even though Shangri la Singapore is selling Horizon Club rooms on their website lounge is now closed and drinks in lobby only.
Staycations are huge in Singapore ATM so no need to keep lounge open @dajop might know more about this. ?..

Can’t comment on Shangri La, but there are no Covid related restrictions that would prevent lounges from opening at the moment, although not sure if buffets are allowed which might discourage hotels from opening lounges. We did a staycation at the JW Marriott South Beach last April and the lounge was definitely open, albeit with table service from the buffet during happy hour.

Now that the world has opened up again, and people are back to travelling again.
Does anyone have any recent experiences with club lounges? I’m going to Taipei in January and was hoping to get some recommendations on good lounge hotels there.
