Any thoughts on how one could fly their mother over to the UK in the next few days? I've looked through all award options (Oneworld) and not finding much. It's a fairly urgent requirement. Otherwise I suppose I'll need to drop a fair chunk of dosh on the ticket.

Departing from where? SQ has points and paid whY fares departing SYD tomorrow and later in the week.

According to ITA Matrix, BA has whY fares ex-SYD for ~$1500 return.

PER, I can't seem to get the cost down from $6,500 cash (happy to pay up to $5k) in J. QF is coming in at 1m points (I only have 500k).

As it's for your mother I am thinking you are wanting J - any options to fly to Singapore and say pick up from there?

If you can get her to Sydney - can get a BA J flight for about $5

From tomorrow, SIN only requires a self administered RAT if a stopover helps.
But they still have the restriction about onward travel being on one booking…. 😔

There might be AY J fares via SIN but closer to $6k+ than $5k.
